This custom sage root pipe is part of the latest collection of collectors' pipes that have been in the works for almost 6 months and recently completed to perfection.
Crafted as a collector piece to be handed down and last a lifetime. Sits evenly flat when set down.
SIZE: 9 1/4" Long x 3" Wide x 3 1/4" deep
This custom bowl has been perfectly set right into a sage root knot, is slightly over 3/4" and is set @ 3/4" deep for extra packing.The smoke hole is 3/16" for a smooth, slow and cool draw.
This piece features the sage root's signature organic detail in all of the ripples, twists, knots and bumps in the root's natural design.
This particular sage root had two interesting tap roots that extended off at the bottom of the root and were able to be incorporated into the design of this rare piece. Each of these separate roots have been cut and tapered so that the finished body looks as if to have two animal horns. This was a first in the sage root pipe realm.
A next level design of creation featuring a unique blend of several beautiful woods of cedar and red padauk that make up the smoking stem.
First is from a cut of some Cedar wood that consists mainly of the deep inner heartwood grain which has been carved to blend naturally with the sage root at the point of contact of the two woods.
Next, and completing the stem is made of the exotic red padauk wood.
All three of these amazing woods have been selectively joined together to offer one hell of an exotic keepsake of a pipe!
The stem tip has then been custom hand carved down to a smooth tapered end for comfortable smoking.
A fair amount of a very high grade bright sky blue sleeping beauty turquoise has been inlaid all over this pipe into natural cracks in the sage root and blending partially into the cedar wood stem which extremely complements the organic character of this root pipe. Each and every stone, shard and chunk of turquoise has been mindfully and patiently inlaid one piece at a time.
Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is revered and highly sought after due to its pure sky blue color which shows very little to no veining or webbing which makes it a perfect compliment to the desert sage root.
This is a very rare and one of a kind original piece in your collection and perfect for the meditative smoker/art collector!
